How to Obtain Medicaid Enrollment Anniversary Date for New York OMIG and DRA Certification Requirements

This blog serves as an update to our previous blog, entitled “Update to New York OMIG and DRA Certification Requirements,” posted on November 10, 2020. The previous blog may be accessed here.

By way of brief background, the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) announced in its October 2020 Medicaid Update (available here) that the annual December certifications (commonly referred to as the SSL Certification and DRA Certification) are no longer required. Instead, providers are required to attest to SSL Certification as part of their annual “Certification Statement for Provider Billing Medicaid.”

This certification is required to be made annually, by the anniversary date of the provider’s enrollment in Medicaid. NYSDOH’s guidance indicates that a provider may find its anniversary date of enrollment on its initial Medicaid enrollment welcome letter. Should a provider no longer have access to its initial Medicaid enrollment letter, the provider may contact the Provider Enrollment office for New York Medicaid by phone at (800) 343-9000 to obtain its enrollment anniversary date. Please note that Provider Enrollment will request the provider’s ETIN (i.e., the provider’s Electronic/Paper Transmitter Identification Number) before furnishing the provider with its anniversary date.

Please refer to our prior blog for additional information on the certification requirements.
